Roxio Creator is no stranger to media management and burning. Roxio can rip, convert and burn music; burn data; make and schedule backups; capture, edit, convert and burn video; and edit photos. And these are just a few of Roxio Creator’s many, many features. The burning, ripping and converting part of the program has run into a bit of a snag when it comes to improving its capabilities. This part of the program is one of the best
in the industry, which means Roxio only has to tweak it slightly and institute minor improvements with each passing version.
In addition of all of Roxio Creator’s fun goodies, it is extremely easy to use and navigate. It claims one of our top spots in CD burning software and our Top 5 Reviews.
If this program were easier to install, it would be up there with the top ranked program in this category.

Feature Set:

You’ll never run out of ways to use Roxio Creator, it is likely the last piece of media software you’ll ever need. You can easily rip music CDs directly from the drive or burn CDs from your hard drive. Roxio supports all popular music formats including MP3, AAC, WMA and WAV. You can even use Roxio to transfer your music to your portable device.

Roxio Creator also includes a media manager, label maker and can create audiobooks.
Roxio’s Data support is comprehensive but straight forward. You can burn data to a disc, burn or create a disc image and copy and convert unencrypted DVD Video formats. You can also schedule backups and restore files.
Additional features include video capture, editing and burning. You can even play movies in Roxio’s Cine Player. You can also edit, enhance and share photos.
The desktop widget that allows you to drag and drop files you want burned onto a disc keeps improving with each passing version. This little tool comes in handy when you don't want to have to open the program over and over again to get to the burning features.

Ease of Use:

Roxio Creator's user-friendly design and clear instructions make burning CDs a breeze. You can easily navigate to each section of the software using the titled tags in the left navigation. Roxio also takes full advantage of drag and drop functionality and intuitively allows you to select specific tracks, folders and files directly from the directory into the software.

We didn’t have any difficulties finding exactly what we were looking for and our CD’s quality was great.

Ease of Installation:

Unfortunately, this is the only section that Roxio didn’t get a full score. Although it wasn’t difficult to install Roxio Creator, it was time consuming. Roxio Creator’s program is more than 3x larger than our #2 CD burning application, Nero, but the included features are almost identical. Even when installing the software from a DVD disc it took more than a half-hour. We can only imagine if you had to install this software from a download off the internet.
