Like our other top CD Burning software, Power2Go from Cyberlink is so much more than just a CD burner. With Power2Go you get a CD burner, DVD burner, data burner, image burner and more. This is why we decided to give this program our Top 5 Reviews.
Power2Go is also one of the
few burning programs we reviewed that supported HD and Blu-ray discs.
Although Power2Go has all the features we were looking for in a good CD burning program it is missing some of the bells and whistles associated with our top three choices like video and photo editing support.
This program would be in contention for the top spot in this category if it had more features and help and support options and were easier to install.

Feature Set: 

Power2Go supports CDs, DVDs, HD DVD and Blu-ray for all data and media burning. You can rip CDs directly from the drive to MP3, WMA and WAV formats. Power2Go also supports mixed media discs. We would have liked to see Power2Go have the ability to convert to a few additional files including AAC (for iPods) and OGG.

 Burning data discs is self explanatory. Go to the data disc symbol, select your media and drag your folders and files.
Power2Go’s video support includes unencrypted Video CDs, DVD_Video files, and whole DVD folders. Additional file support includes MPG, DAT, AVI and WMV. We found that Power2Go also includes a small authoring program for your video movies.
Although Power2Go has many desirable features, it lacks a few convenient features offered by our top-ranked CD burning product, including a label maker and WAV editor.
This program now supports BDXL discs, which allow you to burn up to 128GB on a signle disc.  If you want to keep your data safe from prying eyes, all you have to do is take advance of the new robust 256-bit encryption and added password reminder.  Users who want to show off their images can do so with the new HD photo gallery features, which provides you with the tools to make interactive slideshows while maintaining the original quality of your image.  This program also gives you the ability extract files and folders from .ISO images.  The desktop burning gadget attached to this program makes burning as easy as dragging files into folders on your computer.  The disc authoring process is more advanced than ever.  Plus, the program now gives you the ability to edit audio.

Ease of Use: 

Power2Go features clear-cut organization and instructions. The opening screen is equipped with large, well-labeled icons that provide easy access into each part of the application. The drag and drop function allows you to select only the songs or files you wish to burn and skip the rest.

Ease of Installation: 

Power2Go has an uncomplicated installation and setup process. Self-explanatory and error-free, this product is an excellent choice for beginners. However, we were instructed the software required a program called Direct X to function properly. Although we aren’t big fans of installing additional software, Direct X isn’t an uncommon application and downloading it was easy.

Summary:

Overall, Power2Go is a great CD burning program with its easy to use interface, great copies and straight forward functionality you can’t go wrong. However, it was edged out of one of our top spots simply because it didn’t include some fancier features offered by Nero, Roxio and Corel.
